In 2005, Scripps Health completed a master plan for the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla campus that included the development of a functional space program for Phase 1 of a three-phased Acute Care Tower replacement.  The team of TAYLOR | Perkins + Will was engaged to conduct a programming exercise for selected elements within Phase I of the Master Facilities Plan. The resulting program for Phase I includes 30 critical care beds, 144 med/surg beds, 10 operating rooms, 37 prep/post/PACU positions, and an emergency department with 24 primary and 8 secondary positions. The total Phase I square footage 299,843.
